Brumston Bridge over Wythop Beck which is about half a mile to the east of Wythop Mill is the start of this walk |

There is a parking area a few yards to the left of the bridge |

A gate above the parking area gives access to the road leading to Kelswick Farm |
|
Just beyond the gate a path climbs steeply alongside the wall towards Dodd Crag and Sale Fell's west ridge. The path is the shortest route to the summit and provides a quick way back down to the parking area |

This walk follows the road to Kelswick Farm which rises gradually above Wythop Beck |

The ruins of Wythop Old Church. It was built in the mid 16th centuary on the site of much earlier chapel of ease, it was partly pulled down in 1866 when the new church was built on the other side of the fell |
